Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
This is an exciting opportunity to join our nursing team in the gynaecology outpatients as a Urogynaecology Specialist Nurse. You will be part of urogynaecology service and wider gynaecology nursing team.
The successful candidate will receive support and guidance from both the medical, nursing and multidisciplinary team, whilst providing evidence-based, personalised care with a willingness to learn and expand your knowledge in this specialist area.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based in the gynaecology outpatient department within Salford Care Organisation.
The post holder will be expected to contribute at an advanced level to a specialist urogynaecology nursing service at Salford Royal, for women with pelvic floor and bladder dysfunction alongside the existing Urogynaecology team, including Urogynaecology nurse specialist, a pessary nurse, Urogynaecology Consultants, and the pelvic multidisciplinary team.
You will develop clinical expertise in all aspects of care for urogynaecology patients, together with the Urogynaecology Consultants and members of the immediate urogynaecology clinical team. You will become an autonomous practitioner effectively co-ordinating and delivering an expert nursing service within the specialist area with a view to managing your own nurse-led outpatient clinics. This would include vaginal pessary, bladder retraining, patient education/catheter care, ISC training, TWOC, management of prolapse & medication reviews, and assisting with urodynamic and Bulkamid clinics.
Working in collaboration with the urogynaecology team, you will advise an appropriate treatment plan, ensure a positive impact on the experience of patients and carers, and develop evidence-based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines.

Job responsibilities
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months.
Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
