Step into a role as an Assistant Buyer Discover a great opportunity to take on an integral role here at Joules HQ… Location: This is a full time role based at our Market Harborough office, Leicestershire and you will need to be able to be present in the office 5 days per week. What to expect from a day to day as a Womenswear Assistant Buyer: Support the Buyer to develop, progress and deliver the range for all channels including sample management Manage approvals for the department, escalating any issues to the Buyer Take responsibility for critical path management to ensure on time launch position is achieved and that critical dates are adhered to Display an understanding of overarching buying strategies and department KPIs to take accountability in achieving it Understand margin targets and key component breakdowns associated with product costs to help negotiate with the support of the Buyer Have an awareness of CSR targets in line with brand strategy Work with key stakeholders across Wholesale, Visual Merchandising, Marketing and Photography. Attend weekly trade meetings, working with the merchandising team to analyse sales data and deputise for Buyer including presenting to key management Help to coach Trainee Buyer and support team members Lead with a Customer mindset, visit stores and competitive shops The ideal candidate: To really shine within the role of Assistant Buyer you must be able to work flexibly and at pace. So, if you: Love getting stuff done Have a genuine positivity for the future Not afraid to fail and grow Embrace change Collaboratively celebrate success Always give it your all Have a keen interest in the fashion and retail industry Then look no further, the role of Assistant Buyer at Joules was made for you From a technical and operational perspective, we are looking for someone who has: Keen critical path management skills and confidence to challenge back The ability to work flexibly, at pace and manage your own workload with confidence Exposure to costing and negotiations Has a high ability to prioritise tasks Strong analytical and planning skills Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal Has a clear understanding of our brand DNA and who our customer is Has a passion for product and motivated attitude Be able to identify key competitors and trends in order to recommend product strategies to the Buyer Comprehensive industry knowledge of market competition Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with a can-do attitude Has the confidence to communicate with key stakeholders Enthusiastic with their approach to the role with the ability to take on new challenges in time Has a team player outlook to build strong and meaningful relationships with both internal and external counterparts and suppliers.
