AJ Connect is delighted to once again be exclusively partnered with Link Group, an award-winning social enterprise organisation to look for a Senior Finance Business Partner on a full-time, permanent basis in Edinburgh. The Senior Finance Business Partner will oversee the delivery of high-quality financial and management accounting services to subsidiaries and business units within the Link group. This includes managing a small team of qualified and part-qualified finance staff (up to 4), ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with internal and external requirements. The role may also involve supervising other Finance Business Partners or Accountants. The Senior Finance Business Partner will support financial reporting, budgeting, business planning, and provide general financial advice. They will present financial information to management boards or ensure staff convey it effectively. Working closely with the Finance Business Partnering Manager, the role will contribute to the management team, collaborating with Directors, Managers, and budget holders to provide financial support aligned with business objectives. Main Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Manage operational and financial accounting services, delegating tasks through direct reports. Support preparation of audited statutory accounts with the Group Financial Accountant. Supervise subsidiary leads to ensure consistency in policies, procedures, and financial outputs. Lead working groups for smooth accounting outcomes in projects. Mentor a small finance team, offering guidance and support. Ensure high-quality financial support and foster a collaborative finance team. Oversee workload distribution and service delivery within the Finance Business Partner team. Coordinate with the Financial Accounting team on policy and process updates. Support year-end financial reporting and budgeting processes. Contribute to strategic financial planning and collaborate with senior leadership for financial performance optimization. Analyze financial trends, identify risks, and advise senior management. Manage accounting services, including management accounts, statements, budgets, and projections. Support external tender submissions, funding applications, and financial modeling. Present financial information to management teams and Boards of Management. Coordinate internal and external audits for efficiency and compliance. Work with the Financial Accounting Manager on accounting policies for group accounts. Produce financial reports and submit returns to regulatory bodies. Develop systems for monitoring and evaluating financial performance. Review and improve financial controls and legal compliance. Collaborate with Finance Business Services team for effective communication and service delivery. Provide training and support for the Finance Business Services Support team. Ensure continuity of service during absences or conflicting priorities. Foster a customer service culture within the Finance team. Review and develop finance software and ICT strategies with ICT&D. Undertake ad hoc and project work as needed.
