An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Ward Manager position on Ward 7A.
7A is a 30 bedded General Medical Ward with oncology patients.
We are looking to recruit a compassionate, highly-motivated, committed and passionate nursing leader into the role of Ward Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to come and join Ward 7A.
Main duties of the job
1. Promote and set high standards of professional clinical care and maintain the delivery of quality care within the trust policies, protocols and guidelines.
2. Implement the trust 'values and beliefs' ensuring they are embedded into everyday practice and evaluate their impact on the patients' experience.
3. Provide strong professional clinical leadership to staff within sphere of clinical responsibility.
4. Lead and motivate staff by giving clear direction and setting achievable objectives.
5. Maintain a high visible presence within the clinical area ensuring that patients, visitors, healthcare staff and the multidisciplinary team, have access to senior staff at all times.
6. Act as an effective professional role model and expert clinician.
7. Ensure that all concerns relating to the implementation of patient quality and safety are addressed on the ward/department.
8. Monitor and evaluate standards of care by the clinical team and provide regular feedback to the ward team on the standards of care.
9. In collaboration with other areas and the Matron, improve and maintain standards of fundamental care in all teams working together on the Ward.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC or equivalent Allied Healthcare Professional Registration
* Teaching/Assessing/coaching/mentoring qualification or equivalent skill
Experience
* A minimum of 2 years experience at band 6 or above
* Management of staff in previous roles

* Effective Communication Skills (written and verbal)
* Good Interpersonal Skills
* Planning and organisation skills
