What you’ll achieve:
The Vice President of Engineering leads a high-performing, globally distributed team to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that drive business growth. Partnering with the CTO, this role focuses on modernizing legacy systems, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and balancing regional requirements with unified technical strategies. Operating in a highly global environment, the Vice President fosters collaboration across regions while maintaining consistency and excellence. With a focus on efficiency and innovation, the role delivers high-impact results by streamlining processes and maximizing outcomes within a resource-conscious framework. This position requires a dynamic leader who sets the pace for agility and rapid delivery to meet evolving market demands. * Hands-On Leadership: Provide hands-on oversight of engineering, infrastructure, and support functions, directly engaging with teams to ensure seamless operations and alignment with organisational goals.
* Transformational Change Management: Drive efficiency by optimizing costs without compromising quality or effectiveness. Lead hands-on cultural, structural, and operational changes to foster alignment and engagement, proactively mitigating risks to ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption.
* Global Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive software engineering strategy that aligns with business objectives, product roadmaps, and customer needs. Maintain a hands-on role in shaping and driving this strategy across global teams.
* Engineering Roadmap: Define and drive the long-term engineering vision, focusing on scalability, security, innovation, and reducing technical debt. Align engineering investments with business goals to deliver measurable outcomes, continuous improvement, and cost-effective impact.

* Agile / SAFe Practices: Champion and implement agile/SAFe development methodologies, ensuring hands-on leadership in adopting practices like PI (Program Increment) Planning, Lean Portfolio Management, Prioritisation and continuous integration. Rapidly implement changes while maintaining operational stability and quality.
* Talent Development: Play a hands-on role in building, retaining, and developing top-tier software engineering talent. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and agility, while optimizing team strengths and cross-functional effectiveness.
* Performance Management: Set clear performance objectives for the teams, regularly evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback to foster growth and improvement. Develop and implement robust KPIs to measure engineering effectiveness across regions, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and operational efficiency.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks in software projects, engineering practices and establish mitigation plans to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
* Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and relevant regulations across all software development activities.

Desired Requirements
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
* 15+ years’ experience in leading and managing global software engineering teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Proven expertise in driving the transformation of legacy systems to modern, scalable architectures, with a strong emphasis on microservices and cloud-native solutions.
* Experience managing and scaling remote-first engineering teams across multiple time zones. Foster collaboration, streamline communication, and drive a results-oriented culture.
