Senior Quantity Surveyor – New Residential Development Location: Essex Salary: Up to £90k Car allowance Bonus Private Healthcare Excellent Pension Flexible working My Client is a leading residential developer with sites across the South of England varying from 28 units - 950. They are now in a position to move forward with a brand new site, 78 units made up of quality traditional build homes 3-5 bedrooms aimed at the high end of the market. The scheme starts on site in March so looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with relevant experience in delivering high quality, award winning developments on greenfield land. About the Role: As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the cost aspects of this major new residential development from inception to completion. Your role will be crucial in ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You'll collaborate with the project team, tried and tested supply chain, and stakeholders to ensure financial control and project success. Key Responsibilities: Lead the cost management process for the entire project lifecycle, including budgeting, cost planning, and financial reporting. Prepare detailed cost estimates, schedules, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the project scope. Oversee the procurement process, including tendering and subcontractor negotiations, to ensure best value. Monitor and manage project costs, identifying any variations or potential risks and providing solutions to mitigate them. Work closely with the project manager and design team to ensure cost-effective and quality-driven solutions. Manage the preparation and submission of interim and final accounts, ensuring full compliance with contract terms. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. About You: Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, must have exposure to large residential or mixed-use developments. A degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, Excellent understanding of cost management and reporting tools - must have done their own CVR's. Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. Proven ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively, ensuring quality and financial control. A proactive, results-driven approach with excellent communication and leadership abilities.
