Our client, a world-renowned manufacturer of detection equipment, is seeking an experienced PCB Assembly Operative to join their small team.
As a PCB Assembly Operative, you will assist with assembling, soldering, inspection, programming, and testing of PCB assemblies. Your responsibilities will include ensuring PCBs are assembled correctly according to the bill of materials and drawings, maintaining high assembly standards, and programming and testing as per company procedures.
PCB Assembly Operative Required Skills:
1. Prior experience in insertion and soldering of through-hole components into a PCB assembly
2. Ability to identify different components and knowledge of component polarity
3. Good soldering technique (demonstration will be required during the interview process)
4. Must be able to follow job cards, work instructions, diagrams, and sample PCBs
5. Must be well-organized and able to work to deadlines
6. Good literacy and numeracy skills
7. Good attention to detail and ability to work in a team
Desirable but not required:
1. Experience in programming and testing PCB assemblies is desirable, but training will be provided. Proficient use of a computer will be required for programming and testing.
2. PCB rework skills are desirable but not required
3. Awareness of IPC standards is desirable but not required
Further Roles:
The candidate may occasionally be asked to help other departments of the business, which may include inspection, final box assembly, potting, gluing, packing, stock management, testing, and programming. Training for these additional responsibilities will be provided.
The interview will include a short practical soldering test.

The position of PCB Assembly Operative is a permanent role, with the following working hours:
Monday - Thursday: 08:00am - 16:30pm
Friday: 08:00am - 13:30pm
