Highway Safety Inspector
Highway Safety Inspector required for a contract in Birmingham.
As a Highway Safety Inspector, you will collect data relating to safety and future improvements to safeguard the travelling public, assist the Steward in all activities relating to inspections, and produce reports that meet specified requirements.
What will this role involve?
1. Ensure accurate and effective collation of data.
2. Carry out inspections in accordance with the Well-Maintained Highways Code of General Practice.
3. Ensure contract compliance on data quality management issues.
4. Develop timely and accurate reports.
5. Comply with the relevant health and safety legislation.
6. Communicate with third party claims team to provide evidence in the defence of third-party claims.
7. Assist with the establishment and implementation of a programme of inspections and investigations.
8. Assist with project administration as required.
9. Record time accurately in project control systems.
10. Attend court to assist with the rebuttal of claims against the Highway Authority.
11. Liaise with the OCR and staff to ensure planning, operations, and works are completed on time.
What are we looking for?
1. Appropriate qualification to relevant trade with extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.
2. Appropriate legislative and compliance HSEA training.
3. Relevant Inspectors courses and qualifications, including defect identification, monitoring, and recording.
4. Qualifications specifically defined by clients including Professional Membership were deemed appropriate.
5. Relevant processes and procedures.
6. IT Literate.
7. Knowledge of the network.
8. Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
9. Good all-round project management knowledge.
10. Self-Motivated and able to work alone and prioritise workload.
11. Able to work under pressure.
12. LANTRA Highways Inspection ticket required.
