Assistant Team Manager
Social Work – Children with Disabilities
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £46 per hour
Our client is looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Work Assistant Team Manager to help lead a team of Qualified Social workers within the Children with Disabilities Team. You will be part of a fast-paced, busy and supportive team who assess and work with Children and Families. The Assistant Team Manager will support and supervise the team, primarily providing regular supervision to facilitate Pathway planning for young people, ensuring they have equal opportunities to study, work, and live in high-quality accommodation that meets their needs.
The successful candidate will also provide Personal Advisors within the service with regular supervision.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you’ll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

Perfect candidate will be:
1. Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. SW, CSS, DipSW or Social Work Degree.
3. Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
4. Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or other Statutory or Voluntary Agency.
5. Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for individuals and their families.
6. Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
7. Experience working with a range of client groups within an Agency.
8. Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
9. Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service.
10. Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis.
11. Knowledge of legislation relating to general social work practice.
12. 4 years plus Qualified.
In this role you will:
1. Use skills, knowledge, and experience to make full assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
2. Manage an agreed caseload.
3. Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimum outcomes for service users.
4. Devise individual care plans, taking account of diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
5. Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to assist development.
