Our client is a leading company in the construction and civil engineering sector, known for delivering high-quality projects across Aberdeen and the Highlands and Islands. They are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join their team on a fixed-term 10-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
* Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
* Maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
* Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Buyer in the construction or civil engineering industry is desirable.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of market trends and supply chain management.
