We are delighted to offer up to three Senior Clinical Fellow posts based at Morriston Hospital Emergency Department which are aimed at strengthening skills in Emergency Medicine. These are fixed term posts for 12 months and aiming to commence 5th February 2025.
It is intended that these posts will provide an excellent learning opportunity and will enhance individual's CVs.
Education in the form of ultrasound, simulation, literature search, critical appraisal & research methodology & radiology are provided in house with support to attain required provider/instructor status in ALS, ATLS, and APLS courses.
Although this post is not recognised for training, participation in educational programmes, audit and research will be encouraged and supported. There is an active Multi Professional Education Centre and Medical Staff are encouraged to use its facilities. There are also comprehensive Medical Libraries at all sites managed by Chartered Librarians.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in a full shift 24/7 rota of more experienced doctors who provide support to the junior grade at Morriston ED.
During this time dedicated weekly Teaching/study leave time will be provided in support of educational activities and participation in departmental governance and training.
You will be clinically responsible for the diagnosis, supervision and management of patients attending the ED.
You will provide initial treatment and assessment of adult and paediatric patients presenting with illness or injury and where necessary arranging for patients to be reviewed or admitted by medical staff from other specialties.
On exceptional occasions, be responsible for such irregular commitments outside normal hours as are essential for continuity of patient care.
The appointment is subject to the national medical and dental terms and conditions of service.

1. Full GMC Registration with license to practice
2. MB BS or recognised equivalent

2. 48 months postgraduate experience including 12 months emergency medicine
