About the role
• Working within a team of formulation experts within a wider multidisciplinary technical team, this role is responsible for supporting all aspects of formulation development from laboratory manufacture of products to monitoring stability trials.
• Uses scientific expertise to develop new product formulations, challenging product design thinking to ensure the most robust formulation design is in place.
• Supports existing product portfolio with resilience activities such as qualification of alternative raw materials.
• Ensures all formulation activities are completed on time and highlights any potential formulation risks throughout the development.
• Ensures strict adherence to all relevant SOPs and that all laboratory duties are performed safely and in line with requirements.
• Responsible for the creation of accurate laboratory records and for the quality and accuracy of all technical documentation.
• Supports effective scale-up and transfer of technology to partner manufacturer(s) in the UK and Europe.
• Keeps abreast of industry trends and changes to ensure up to date with the latest legislation, raw materials, etc.
• Builds strong collaborative relationships with their team and cross-functionally particularly with product, quality, regulatory, sourcing and No.7 Beauty Company R&D colleagues.
What you’ll need to have
• Graduate in Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of formulation R&D.
• Experience in formulation development within the cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry, preferably with some suncare or skincare formulation knowledge with a proven record of delivery.
• Results focused with excellent attention to detail.
• Good understanding of GLP, GMP and the end-to-end product value chain.
• Excellent project management skills, able to work flexibly and manage a portfolio of projects and tasks.
• Able to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
