Mechanical Technician Needed for Oil & Gas Client in Portsmouth
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our client's dynamic team based in Gosport, Portsmouth.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician with a strong skillset for troubleshooting mechanical systems and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of complex equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain planned maintenance schedules to ensure precision and efficiency.
* Conduct on-site inspections to identify defects and report them for swift resolution.
* Collaborate with the Depot Engineer to maintain accurate PPM records and meet deadlines.
* Prepare work areas for depot, system, and component maintenance.
* D diagnose faults in complex systems using diagnostic skills.
* Translate technical drawings, P&IDs, and isometric diagrams into actionable plans.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Risk Assessments (RAMs), and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
* Author RAMs for safe task execution.
Requirements
* A certified Mechanical Technician with qualifications in a recognised Craft Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2 in Engineering Operations or Pipework Systems, Level 3 BTEC/NVQ in Mechanical Maintenance.
* Expertise in rotating and static equipment, including tanks, pumps, valves, and pipework.
* Medical fitness to occasionally tackle confined spaces (with supplied breathing equipment).
* Excellent teamwork and professionalism.
* Technical proficiency to navigate computer records and keep paperwork accurate and timely.
