The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and driving cost-saving initiatives across various departments, including Retail, Food & Beverage, Holiday Operations, and Home Sales. This role will focus on identifying and executing procurement strategies to achieve efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve supplier relationships and supply chain delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to manage sourcing, tenders, negotiations, and supplier performance, particularly in key areas such as utility supplies, operational services, and park maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Savings & Optimisation: Identify and implement cost-saving and business efficiency opportunities across the business, focusing on areas such as energy suppliers, F&B procurement, home sales, and park operations, to drive savings on total cost of supply, lead times, and working capital.
2. Strategic Sourcing: Collaborate with various departments to source suppliers, manage the tenders process, and manage the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring the best value for the business.
3. Category Management: Monitor and manage supplier performance against agreed KPIs, ensuring they meet contractual obligations, and take corrective action when necessary, including risk management and mitigating any annual inflation. Build relationships and work to secure funds to support marketing activities.
4. Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead supplier negotiations, ensuring that contracts are aligned with business needs, cost-saving objectives, and service quality standards.
5. Support ESG Goals: Ensure supply chain compliance to ethical sourcing standards and seek opportunities to positively contribute to the Cove UK Sustainability Action Plan.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement processes and implement changes that enhance operational efficiencies and reduce costs as well as develop and maintain expert knowledge of supply markets, competitors, and product innovations relevant to the Holiday Park sector.
7. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with teams across F&B, Holidays, and Home Sales to understand procurement needs and deliver solutions that align with departmental goals.
8. Framework Compliance: Continuously drive spend by park operators to managed framework suppliers and reduce reliance on one-time vendors, personal expenses, and petty cash.
9. Market Analysis & Reporting: Stay informed on market trends and pricing. Analyse and present complex commercial/contractual data and concepts to a wide range of stakeholders; including the senior management team.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. CIPS or MCIPS qualified; or alternative qualifications in transferable expertise.
2. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
3. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
4. Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
5. Solid negotiation, influencing, and resolution skills.
6. Proven experience in procurement, ideally within the hospitality or leisure sectors.
7. Experience in managing cost-saving projects, including energy procurement and operational services.
8. Experience of strategic sourcing/tendering in a multi-stakeholder environment.
9. Experience in managing contracts and supplier performance through KPIs.
10. Track record of delivering results against stretching targets.
