Salary: A competitive salary from £46,960 - £56,723 depending on the experience you can bring

The Job:
Our team at GTS Network Services is dedicated to managing and maintaining the Aegon Global Network. We're responsible for ensuring network stability, deploying new technologies, and managing systems. We provide expert support for the Aegon Enterprise Network, working closely with other support teams to meet the needs of our customers.
As a Senior Network Engineer in our team, you'll be involved in troubleshooting incidents, providing escalation support for Level 2 Operations, and resolving problems. You'll also support various networks, including the Global Wide Area Network, Metro Area Network, and Local Area Network. Plus, you'll work with Firewalls, VPN technologies, Software Defined Network Technologies, and Wireless networks.
What You Will Do:
* Project Management: Tackle moderately challenging tasks with creativity and problem-solving skills. Follow established procedures with minimal guidance, assisting in their development and enhancement.
* Configure and Install Network Equipment: Install network equipment to support business needs and configure network changes as required. Set up new devices like routers and switches to keep the network running efficiently.
* Analyse Data: Examine network data to identify problems and suggest improvements. Perform in-depth analysis of packet captures, presenting findings with recommendations.
* Collaborate: Work with third-party and vendor support teams to resolve network issues.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills: Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, even under pressure.
* Communication and Flexibility: Excellent written and verbal skills, adaptable to changing priorities, with strong time management and a proactive work ethic.
* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in designing, installing, and maintaining various equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, software-defined networking, and wireless systems.
* Encryption and Networking Knowledge: Familiar with encryption methods, MPLS, and VPNs.
* Routing Protocols: Experience with routing protocols like EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
* Documentation: Able to create detailed documentation for complex network functions and site operations.
* Packet Analysis: Proficient in advanced packet capture analysis.
* Telecommunications Expertise: Background in telecommunications technology, specialising in data networking.
It’d also be great – but not essential - if you’ve got:
* Ability to work closely with 2nd and 3rd level Network Engineers as well as other teams in GTS on an international level.
* Ability to cross-train other team members in these technologies:
* Cisco and Juniper Routing and Switching
* Mist Wireless Technology
* Cisco ACI Software Defined Networking

* Requirement for non-traditional hours, with rotating after-hours and on-call duties – further details can be discussed with the Hiring Manager at interview
* Possible ad-hoc domestic and international travel
