Main duties of the job In conjunction with Cancer Services, the head and neck and NSS multidisciplinary teams, diagnostics and tertiary services the post holder will assist with the clinical aspects of the co-ordination of the diagnostic pathway for head and neck cancer, and non specific symptoms ensuring faster diagnosis where a cancer is presentincorporating information provision, physical and psychological support. The Trust already provides straight-to-test pathways for cancer, including clinical triage processes, and this role will be key to developing and maintaining these pathways for head and neck cancer. The post holder will need to act autonomously but in close collaboration with Cancer Services, the Faster Diagnosis nursing team, a team of consultant surgeons, imaging, endoscopy, other tertiary trusts when applying specialist expertise to all facets of care for patients with suspected cancer.
