A leading pesticide business based in Farnham is currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. Due to growth, the company has identified the need for a well-connected Technical Manager to spearhead their innovation, development and regulatory activities – relating to cutting-edge pest control solutions. This dynamic role entails leading product development, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Technical Manager responsibilities Lead the development of pesticide formulations, from concept to market launch. Manage formulation and efficacy testing to meet performance, safety, and environmental benchmarks. Drive the creation of sustainable pest control solutions with reduced environmental impact. Work closely with chemists and biologists to optimise product performance. Identify new opportunities and trends, collaborating with R&D teams and external research partners. Analyse trial results and customer feedback to refine formulations. Provide technical guidance to customers, distributors, and sales teams on product application and safety. Serve as a liaison between technical, sales, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure seamless project execution. Travel to international events when required. Technical Manager requirements Degree level qualified in Chemistry or closely related field of study. Pesticide industry experience is highly advantageous. However, this role will also suit a talented Technical Manager from the industrial chemical industry. Proven record of managing product development or technical projects from inception to commercialisation. Experience leading technical teams and driving cross-functional initiatives. Strong leadership experience – managing cross-functional teams including regulatory, formulation, quality and trials. A strong understanding of industry regulations – biocides, chemicals or pesticides. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency in presenting technical data clearly to diverse audiences. Effective collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
