As a Licensing Manager, you will be responsible for managing and executing strategic licensing business across EMEA & ANZ. The scope of the role includes managing both our existing Licensing Partners and the recruitment and on-boarding of new Licensing Partners, which combined will cover a wide range of licensed products and portfolios. In this critical role you will drive the key initiatives that will facilitate Licensing revenue growth across EMEA & ANZ. As the licensing expert for the region, you will build a cohesive and actionable licensing partner growth plan that will support the Global Licensing revenue growth. Partnering with internal and external resources, you will help develop and execute new licensing programs, expand existing partners' products into new channels of distribution and new territories, increase licensed product sales through eCommerce and ensure our licensing partners deliver best in class product designs, innovation, and quality. Role and Responsibilities: - Work closely with the SBD licensing partners to develop successful strategic partnerships across key brands. - Identify potential new expansion portfolios and develop prospecting lists with our external Licensing agency. Assist in the on-boarding and signing of new partners. - Manage annual licensing royalty budgets and develop plans to exceed the operating plan, tracking monthly. - Work closely with the business units (BU's) to ensure full alignment on key strategies. - Leverage opportunities to drive commercial excellence through presenting the brand strength of our core licensed portfolio offering. - Provide insight to continuously improve the licensing process. Licensing Partner Management: - Lead Licensing partners with the brand and product approval process; working in conjunction with the Legal, Engineering, Industrial Design, and Brand Teams to ensure delivery of best-in-class products that are indistinguishable from core product. This will involve managing licensee portal submissions. - Develop 3-year strategic plans with the licensing partners to include product road planning, territory and customer expansion, commercialization planning, digital excellence, and ecommerce sales growth. - Conduct business reviews with each partner annually and be fully immersed in their business on a month-to-month basis, supporting their business needs and assisting to execute their growth plans. Contracts: - Negotiate contracts, extensions, amendments, and renewals. - Collaborate with the Legal Team to draft contracts and work through approvals / revisions. - Work with the Finance Team to track partner financial health and develop and execute plans with the licensing partners to ensure outperformance versus minimum guarantees. - Oversee final execution process and update appropriate personnel as required. Personal Attributes: - Bachelor's Degree in Business, marketing or related discipline is required. - Minimum of 3-5 years' Sales or Marketing / Product Management / Licensing experience in a selling/negotiation role, consumer goods industry preferred. - Passion for developing sales growth plans and working with licensing partners to execute those plans - Experience of working with businesses and key decision makers across multiple categories. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate both internally and externally with business leaders. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize opportunities from different business plans. - Strong business/financial acumen, ability to understand profitability and return on investment. - Commercial experience - ability to help licensing partners commercialize their products. Understanding of line reviews, development of marketing plans and an ability to identify new opportunities to grow sales - Negotiation skills, the role will require terms and conditions negotiation on new contracts. - Creativity in problem solving - Ability to implement projects with a high level of detail and complexity. - Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize high workloads. - Experience of working in a multicultural team and in an international environment - Persuasive skills to influence others. - Prepared to travel regularly within EMEA & ANZ regions. - Strong entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to meet and exceed goals and targets - Ability to expand skills and take on additional responsibility in the near future. - Efficient and flexible, willing to step up to help with any given project or opportunity, demonstrates aptitude in planning, forecasting, presentation skills, analysis, prioritization, and balancing work loads. - Preferred candidate will be located 1-1.5 hours travel from an SBD office.
