Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Operations Specialist to join our team in Canterbury. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing lab operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the working environment is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
\

1. Manage lab stock and inventory, ordering, experiments set-up, and troubleshooting issues without direct supervision.
\
2. Develop and implement SOPs, ensuring adherence to good laboratory standards.
\
3. Collaborate with senior scientists to deliver projects and ensure timely completion.
\
4. Maintain accurate records, including digitally stored reports, databases, documentation, and user guides.
\
5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in technical operations.
\
6. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
\
7. Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
\
8. Benefits include 28 days' annual leave, sick leave benefits, and a supportive work culture.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:
\
\
10. A degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as molecular biology or biochemistry.
\
11. At least two years of experience in a lab setting, preferably in a technical operations role.
\
12. Proven track record of managing lab operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a safe working environment.
\
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively within a team.
\
14. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
\
15. Able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and priorities.
\
16. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software, including data analysis tools and cloud platforms.
\
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
\
18. Excellent numerical and written communication skills, with ability to produce clear, concise reports.
\
19. Proficient in using various digital tools, including Google Workspace and MS Office.
\
20. Familiarity with robotic equipment or willingness to learn.
\
21. Experience with COSHH standards and waste management practices.
\
22. Able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
