We are seeking a talented and proactive Assistant Designer to join our friendly team in East London. This role offers the opportunity to work on seamless athleisure, underwear, and cut-and-sew styles. Reporting to the Designer and Head of Product, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design and development of innovative collections for both branded and white-label projects.

We design and manufacture products that blend cutting-edge technology with sustainable materials. Top Tie Trading is the parent company to Jilla Active, one of our owned key brands soon to be rebranded, which is celebrated for its elevated essential styles and soft, active feel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the design and development of seasonal collections, covering seamless athleisure, underwear, and cut-and-sew styles.
2. Conduct trend and market research to propose new concepts, shapes, colors, and details.
3. Create detailed technical packs using Adobe Illustrator, including measurements, technical drawings, and construction details.
4. Work closely with our factory in China on material sourcing, trim development, and sample production.
5. Collaborate with the Designer and Head of Product to ensure designs meet technical and aesthetic requirements.
6. Participate in fit sessions, take detailed notes, and communicate adjustments to the factory.
7. Measure garments, manage size charts, and maintain high-quality standards throughout the development process.
8. Prepare packaging, labeling, and seasonal selling materials such as linesheets and lookbooks.
9. Coordinate and organize samples for photoshoots and plan outfits for campaigns.
10. Work across teams, supporting e-commerce, wholesale, and other business areas as needed.
11. Get involved in ad hoc tasks, such as assisting at events, trade shows, or meetings with buyers.
Skills and Experience Required
Your Profile:
1. Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
2. 1-3 years of experience in designing activewear, underwear, or similar categories.
3. Strong knowledge of seamless technology and garment construction, with some experience in cut-and-sew styles.
4. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Excel.
5. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
7. Passionate about fashion, with a keen eye for trends and technical innovation.
