The Team Manager are responsible for daily work plan clearance to achieve performance and budgetary targets through participation, motivation, and cross functional workings and in-flight decision making. It is vital as a Team Manager to create and support the environment in which trust between colleagues both frontline and managerial, underpins our focus to achieve excellence. This role must have the ability to provide systematic and organised approach to day-to-day operation clearance. Furthermore, the role will be responsible for pursuing achievement of safety, quality, financial, customer, automation, and employee targets and objectives. The Team Manager is responsible for first line HR processes, such as Conduct and Attendance, Engagement, Performance, and more, and for measurement and display of key metrics for the work area, and the analysis, and continuous improvement of them. You will be managing 20 staff in your direct work area of the Northern region, including Scotland, Belfast, and Isle of Man, requiring management of systems such as airmail, and up to an additional 30 across the unit. Other responsibilities include: Managing the movement of mail on a structured workplan, such as arrivals to dispatches. Ensuring quality of service for long distance mail, critical time trailers, and demanding containers, requiring a high level of focus. Engage and coordinating a team of people, driving performance, and identifying improvement. Supervising manual operations of containers and other systems. What skills and experience are we looking for? Demonstratable qualities in operating in a dynamic team environment, a pro-active and positive individual with the ability to persuade and influence others. Able to work under pressure in an automated environment, reacting to operational issues as they occur through team-working and problem solving with others. Comfortable working with complex data and have attention to detail. Able to build effective working relationships with a range of key stakeholders to achieve business objectives. Knowledge of automated environment and parcel site benefits, Flow Room and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Automation knowledge, mech performance metrics and the role of engineering in effective automation performance. Understand commercial challenges facing the business, able to see the big picture to influence others. Managing diverse teams in a Unionised environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build trust within your team. Resilience, tenacity, and self-starter with excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication skills. Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills. Desirably, knowledge or experience of an automated environment. Shift patterns Shifts will be Saturday & Sunday: 18:00 - 06:00 - Monday & Tuesday: 22:00 - 06:00 A degree of flexibility will be required initially to enable training/upskilling to take place.
