Advanced Nurse-Paramedic Practitioner (Out of Hours) Telephone Triage
Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust's GP Out of Hours service (WestCall) is looking to expand their existing team of experience Telephone Triage clinicians and invite you to join our dynamic and friendly team working to assess, diagnose and triage all patients who present with a range of illnesses.
We are looking for experienced Advanced Nurse or Advanced Paramedic Practitioners who must have been qualified for a minimum of 3 years with 1 year's recent experience within general practice or minor illness care provision. In return you will receive a robust support system by our dedicated multidisciplinary team.
The shift pattern is as follows:
3 x 6 hour shifts per month on a Sunday 12-18 (18 hours per month)

Hybrid working based from home with the expectation to work from Wokingham Community Hospital for 25% of your shifts.

Main duties of the job
* Practice at an advanced level, working as an autonomous practitioner within the MDT to deliver high quality urgent care to patients
* Take responsibility and be accountable in assessing, diagnosing, treating or referring patients.
* Undertake telephone triage work and telephone advice calls
* As an independent prescriber, prescribe medicines in accordance with NMC/HCPC guidance and national policy.
* Request and interpret tests appropriate to patient's needs.

Education/Qualifications
* Registered Nurse/Paramedic
* Post registration Advanced Clinical Study
* Non-medical Prescriber
* Current NMC/HCPC Registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* To have undertaken accredited courses which enable Advanced Practitioner registration
* To have undertaken study at master's level
* Experience of teaching, delivering seminars
* Qualification in teaching and assessing

Previous Experience
* Substantial post registration experience and two years' experience working at band 7 or equivalent
* Experience of working in primary or community health setting
