ROLE - BID Manager
LOCATION - LONDON
A UK-leading building services company specializing in mechanical and electrical solutions across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solutions, we are looking for a BID Manager to lead our tendering and business development efforts.
Role Overview:
As a BID Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring high-quality, competitive, and compliant submissions that align with our business growth objectives. You will work closely with the pre-construction, estimating, and business development teams to secure new contracts and expand our client base.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the full bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification to final submission.
2. Develop compelling and commercially competitive proposals for mechanical and electrical building services projects.
3. Collaborate with internal teams, including design, estimating, and commercial, to ensure accurate and strategic bid responses.
4. Lead bid strategy meetings, ensuring alignment with company goals and client requirements.
5. Research and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to strengthen bid proposals.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client expectations.
7. Oversee the creation of bid documentation, including technical and commercial proposals, presentations, and case studies.
8. Manage deadlines and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
9. Maintain and develop relationships with key clients, consultants, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a BID Manager role within the building services, M&E, or construction industry.
2. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, including design, installation, and project delivery.
3. Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to create compelling bid responses.
4. Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop competitive pricing strategies.
5. Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
6. Proficiency in bid software and Microsoft Office applications.
7. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements in building services.
2. Experience working with public sector and private sector clients.
3. APMP or equivalent bid management certification.
