Salary:
£53,350 to £57,005 per annum.
Contract:
Full-time, 37 hours per week.
Location:
Base depot Drayton Depot nr. Chichester or Clapham Depot nr. Worthing, depending on preference. You will be able to work in a hybrid manner, as determined by the needs of the service.

As the Service Delivery Manager, you will have responsibility for the Highway Inspection Team and Core Maintenance Contract Support Team, both of which have a countywide focus.
In addition, you will have a countywide overview and responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of a variety of carriageway and footway patching programmes, compliance of the Core Maintenance Contract (reactive and planned) and Winter Service delivery.
You will be a focal point within Highways, Transport and Planning and will be the principal professional expected to form and maintain excellent working relationships with a variety of teams and groups to ensure that processes, programmes, and contractor
activities are delivered to the level expected.
In this role you will contribute to the development and shape of the team and elements of contract delivery, which requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and influence activities including working across and outside of the organisation.
What we need from you:

Communication skills with ability to influence actions by others and negotiate effective business solutions.
People management and performance management skills.
Ability to set timescales and review effectiveness of service delivery.
Ability to challenge existing practices and identify innovative solutions within the required framework.
Full current driver's licence.
Experience of delivering and co-ordinating a quality customer focused highway maintenance or engineering service to others.
Experience of managing a budget and/or contributing to financially related decisions on larger spends.
Authoritative, applied knowledge of the specialist or professional discipline including technical theories and related principles, practices and procedures.
Sound and accurate IT knowledge e.g. Microsoft Office.
