Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Deputy Manager to support our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience managing a nursery environment. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education for young children.
Duties
* Supporting the Manager in managing the entire staff team
* Mentor, support and train colleagues to ensure outstanding care and education is provided at all times
* Promote high standards of quality and care within the Nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
* Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's learning and development
* Provide confidential, effective, efficient and flexible administrative support to the nursery whilst ensuring an excellent service is provided to our customers, visitors, contractors and Directors
* Create policies and procedures and ensure that these are effectively implemented and adhered to
* Actively market the Nursery to prospective customers
Specific administrative duties include:
* Maintaining accurate and confidential records on staff, children, parent and accounts, both manually and using the Connect software management system
* Invoicing and collection of fees, including the administration of tax-free childcare, pursuing outstanding fees and resolving any account queries
* Preparing monthly payroll spreadsheet
* Maintaining banking processes
* Maintaining petty cash records
* Ordering from suppliers
Qualifications, skills and experience required are as follows:
* NVQ Level 3 or above in childcare
* In depth EYFS knowledge and practical experience
* Strong people management skills and leadership qualities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
* Excellent time management skills and an ability to remain calm under pressure
* Proactive and dynamic self-starter with a positive, “can do” attitude
* Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
* Highly numerate to ensure billing is carried out correctly
* Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office
