Are you a dynamic and strategic leader with a passion for delivering high-quality housing services? Due to the planned retirement of our current post holder, we are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Housing & Communities to lead our housing team in delivering great services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Housing Service, including strategy development, operational delivery, and team management.
Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of housing policies and programs to meet community needs and regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective service delivery and efficient use of resources.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, housing associations, contractors, and community groups.
Drive innovation in housing solutions, particularly in areas of sustainability, affordability, and community engagement.
Lead and mentor a dedicated team of housing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Ensure compliance with all relevant housing legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Monitor and evaluate performance, delivering continuous improvement in service standards and customer satisfaction.Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior housing management role, ideally in the public sector or in a charitable housing organisation.
Strong knowledge of housing policy, legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on partnership- building and community engagement.
Ability to think strategically, balancing long-term goals with day-to-day operational needs.
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH, RICS, or equivalent) is desirable.Benefits:

Scheme 1: Employee 3% / Employer 6%
Scheme 2: Employee 5% / Employer 10%
Scheme 3: Employee 7% / Employer 12%Scheme 3 will increase at a 1% incremental rate (for both Employer and employee) on an annual basis until it reaches 10% Employee and 15% Employer contribution rates to April 2028.
