We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years practitioner to join our leadership team as a room leader. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and providing leadership to staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in English, have experience working with children, and demonstrate a passion for early childhood education, with a strong focus on both indoor and outdoor learning.
Duties
Supervise and manage daily activities within the nursery or childcare setting.
Lead and motivate staff to ensure high-quality care and education for all children.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
Drive initiatives that promote a positive learning environment and foster children's development.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both children and staff.
Assist in planning and implementing educational programmes that meet the needs of children at various developmental stages.
Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and support as necessary to enhance their professional growth.
Requirements
Proven experience in a leadership role within a nursery or childcare setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, a level 2 qualification is essential
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour.
Experience working with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
A relevant level 3 qualification in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
Knowledge of safeguarding
Paediatric first aid is essential or training will need to be completed in the first 3 months of employment.
Experience of delivering a phonics programme is desirable.
