An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 6 Occupational Therapist in the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). This role is advertised as a band 6, however may consider a band 5 development role to band 6 for a suitable candidate. This would be supported by the leadership team within the first 12 months of employment.

We are a family-based service working across Sussex County with children, young people and their parents/carers/family members to treat Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa. This role will be based at Aldrington Centre, Hove alongside involving some travel across the Sussex area.

This role requires staff to work as an OT alongside some lead practitioner responsibilities and provide 1-1 and group interventions. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with service users & the families on your caseload to create care plans that meet their needs and maximise their participation in everyday life.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to complete robust clinical assessments, effectively support and reduce risk, inclusive care and treatment planning as well as robust caseload management.
You will be supported by the Division's Specialist Occupational Therapist, the wider MDT and our partnership OT colleagues to promote and develop the role of Occupational Therapy within this clinical area. You will be actively encouraged and supported to implement evidence-based practice changes, and develop your own knowledge and experience, and that of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in the role of OT, and the nine key OT interventions delivered within the service. You will actively participate in the screening of OT referrals received via the OT referral pathway within the service, and attend regular in-service OT meetings and education sessions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* To provide occupational therapy interventions for referred clients using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* To promote and develop the role of Occupational Therapy within the home intervention team in SFEDS.
* To act as Lead Practitioner and be part of the MDT in providing meal supervision and support with families including risk assessment planning and collaborative care plans.
* To manage a caseload of clients.
* To provide specialist clinical advice and input for clients with complex problems and needs.
* To ensure occupational therapy contribution to the provision of quality clinical care and performance standards.
* To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of occupational therapy and local multi-professional services.
