Purpose of the role:
We are investing in the growth of our project management capability, it’s an exciting time to join the team as we strive to successfully support our people in delivering critical projects as part of the McLaren Racing portfolio.
In this role, you will work as a Senior Project Manager as part of the PMO team striving to deliver project success across McLaren Racing. As part of the PMO you’ll lead projects from scoping to delivery across all areas of the business. You will provide expert guidance on PMO methodologies, ensuring adherence to standards and facilitating clear communication across all stakeholders. You will drive strategic project alignment and execution, be comfortable managing critical project portfolios, identifying and mitigating risk, and delivering timely and accurate reporting.
Role Dimensions
This role sits in the Programme Management Office within the Business Performance function and has no direct reports. You will collaborate extensively with senior leaders, project members, and cross functional teams within the organisation.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Lead complex and high impact vehicle projects from conception to closure, ensuring milestones are met on target
2. Conducting project scoping and feasibility, oversighting vehicle performance definition and achievements
3. Managing Vehicle BoM and weight, collecting an elaborating data
4. Proactively cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of the business. Build consensus and secure buy-in for proposed PMO process improvements and strategic project initiatives.
5. Track project financial performance to budget.
6. Ensuring Milestones Governance is defined and ensuring its implementation across the Team
7. Lead by example, demonstrating strong project management expertise, role model our values and the fundamentals of our high-performance culture.
8. Develop and maintain effective and proactive communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular project updates and managing expectations.
9. Manage and escalate Project risks/issues to the Project Lead as required
10. Support the Head of PMO in the development of new Programme/Project governance frameworks
11. Work closely with the Project Administrator across all projects, using time effectively to ensure all requirements are covered for all projects involved in.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

12. Good vehicle product development experience
13. Multiple years Project Management experience
14. APM PPQ or PMQ/ equivalent qualification
15. Proficient in Project management tools
16. Experience of delivering vehicle projects
17. Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders across all levels of the business

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
