This is an incredibly exciting time to join the Works Department as we open our new Centre of Excellence for Heritage Craft Skills & Estate Management.
Our Electricians will play a key role in our future as we begin our decarbonisation journey and take a leading role in heritage adaptation, particularly through the use of renewable energies, producing in excess of 175,000 kWh of power on site, per year.
The role of Electrical Engineer is varied and interesting. No two days will be the same as you work across our ancient estate of listed buildings – from the 12th Century Old Palace, to the Minster itself, and to our many residential and commercial properties. You will be part of a team who are passionate about caring for this very special part of the City of York, forming part of its long history dating back centuries.
