We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Mathematics Teacher to join one of our SEN schools in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, and a passion for making maths accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored mathematics lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
Implement effective teaching strategies to support students with a variety of learning difficulties, including dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorders, and other learning disabilities.
Assess, monitor, and report on the progress and attainment of students, adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure success.
Work closely with the SENCo, teaching assistants, and other colleagues to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure that all students receive the appropriate support.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' confidence and self-esteem.
Engage with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and strategies to support learning at home.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Previous experience teaching Mathematics to students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of strategies and interventions for teaching maths to SEN students.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
