About the Theatre Technician Role: As a Theatre Technician, you’ll play a vital role in making the magic happen—working across our three theatres and performance spaces at Cranleigh School and Cranleigh Prep. Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you’ll work alongside Music, Drama, Dance, and IT teams, bringing productions to life through expert sound, lighting, set construction, and AV support. This Theatre Technician role offers: Hands-on involvement in spectacular school productions Cutting-edge equipment and tech The chance to train and mentor budding young theatre professionals The role equates to working 40 weeks per year, 34 weeks during term time and 6 weeks during the holidays - perfect for pursuing freelance work outside of school time What We’re Looking For: Experience in live sound, lighting design, and stage management A technical theatre pro with knowledge of rigging, AV, special effects, and multimedia A problem-solver who thrives under pressure in a dynamic, creative environment A team player with great communication skills and a passion for mentoring students Physically fit and comfortable working at heights Experience with ETC lighting desks and Allen & Heath sound systems, Bonus Skills: AV networking, set design/construction, or hold certifications like IPAF 1b or First Aid, that’s a plus Why Join Us?
