Due to continuing expansion, our client, an award-winning national Civil Engineering company, is actively seeking an experienced, dedicated, and proactive Quantity Surveyor to serve as an integral part of the team.
Working alongside Project Managers, duties include:
1. Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
2. Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
3. Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
4. Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.
5. Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
6. Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
7. Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
8. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
9. Compiling a comprehensive net cost estimate for the works, including preliminary items.
10. Presenting net cost estimates at internal adjudication and implementing changes.
11. Timely submission of tenders, ensuring that the Clients' requirements and specifications are met in full.
12. Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
As a successful candidate, experience within a civil engineering role and a Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar is essential.
You will also possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, together with excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
A valid driver's license is also essential as travel to various sites around the Northwest is required.
