Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: North West England, Lancashire, Fleetwood Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours Salary: £12.90 - £14.00 Per hour Job Duties: The SEMH Teaching Assistant will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in a classroom setting. Duties include providing one-to-one or small group support, assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), helping to create a positive learning environment, and supporting the teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual student needs. Required Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Education: A relevant teaching assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one Experience: Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of SEMH issues and strategies to support students Ability to work effectively as part of a team Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask Preferred Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification Training in behaviour management techniques Working Conditions: The role may involve working with students who display challenging behaviour. The SEMH Teaching Assistant will work within a school environment, collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to student welfare and academic progress.
