Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join a new psychology service for people affected by cancer across County Durham and Darlington and to support the Northern Cancer Alliance 'Improving Mental Wellbeing in Cancer' work. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Consultant Psychologist to develop the service and use your communication, planning and organisation skills to ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged, robust pathways are established and all timelines are met. Main duties of the job The postholder will support the development of a new psycho-oncology service across County Durham and Darlington. This role's initial focus will be on assisting with scoping projects, conducting audits and engaging with staff to identify opportunities and needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing pathways, gathering and analysing data and ensuring evidence based practices underpin service delivery. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in shaping a service from its inception, with scope to eventually support in delivering assessments and interventions which you have helped to shape.
