Varley is a contemporary fashion brand for the modern woman. Founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife Lara and Ben Mead, we are an international, family-run business headquartered between London, Los Angeles, and New York.
Job Description
An experienced and passionate Senior Designer to join our thriving team. Attention to detail is essential as we obsess about every style in our collections. You must be able to follow directions while bringing your own creativity and ideas to the role. You must have demonstrable experience within the Women's market, specifically on Sweats and Jersey.
Responsibilities
1. Working with the Lead Designer on the creation of apparel collections, whilst mentoring junior team members.
2. Work with category leads to carry out comprehensive planning and research, looking for new ways to evolve our collections.
3. Creation of Design Packs and other materials to aid in smooth handover to the Development Team.
4. Work closely with the development/production team to ensure the concepts run smoothly into reality.
5. Work with Lead Designers to ensure the global calendar is followed & deadlines are met. Making key stakeholders aware of any important changes.
6. Take ownership of projects, delegating tasks and managing the workload of Junior Designers. We value mentoring at Varley, so you will have a track record of guiding junior and mid-level designers.
7. Attend trade shows and other valuable off-site visits.

Experience and Skills
1. Degree in Fashion Design or Equivalent.
2. Experience in Womenswear Design role (6+ years).
3. Advanced Illustrator & Photoshop skills.
4. A curious thinker who is comfortable experimenting and pushing boundaries, whilst respecting the brand's ethos and values.
5. In-depth knowledge of fabrics within the Jersey market, with the ability to apply them in line with the Brand’s aesthetic.
6. A passion for clothing, with a keen eye for considered details, we use trim to elevate our products, so you must be knowledgeable in this area.
7. Experience working with Far Eastern suppliers.
8. Strong Presentation and communication skills.
9. Highly organised with the ability to manage several projects in tandem.
10. The drive to work for a market leader and the adaptability to cope with the needs of a growing brand.
Advantageous:
1. In-house fashion Brand experience.
2. 3D Familiarity (CLO 3D).
3. Keynote and PowerPoint proficiency.
You will be joining a strong and communicative in-house team who work closely together on the design and development of our collections. Hybrid, remote or freelance applications are not appropriate for this role and will not be considered.
