The provision
SEMH specialist day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, catering for children with a wide range of needs. Their dedicated team works together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
What is involved?
1. Managing your students' behaviour and learning during lessons and throughout the school day
2. Reduced class sizes and will need to coordinate with your class pupil support workers to ensure that each individual pupil is always supported
3. Responsibility for delivering English across KS3 and KS4
4. Mixed ability classes: the effective differentiation of your planning and delivery is essential
5. Encouraging the development of social skills and supporting students' individual needs
6. Helping to build confidence and motivation
7. Participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team
English Teacher - What is required?
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable but not essential
2. An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject
3. Knowledge and/or a keen interest and understanding of the range of different types of learning and behavioural needs that are associated with SEMH students
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills and a caring attitude
