Finance Manager
We are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a leading Building and Infrastructure organisationbased in Nottingham.

Summary
Location: Nottingham
Hybrid working – 2 days working from home
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Discretionary Bonus + extensive benefits package
Qualifications: ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified
Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification finance accounting experience within the built environment, including building services, facilities management, construction, engineering, or asset management. Strong industry knowledge is essential.

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will be responsible for financial reporting, contract management, debt distribution, and compliance, working closely with senior management and board-level stakeholders. This role offers strong career progression, exposure to high-profile renewable energy and infrastructure projects, and the chance to influence key financial decisions within the built environment sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, cash books, and loan schedules
Maintain accruals, prepayments, and amortisation workings
Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including budget variance analysis
Manage VAT and CIS returns, ensuring compliance and timely submission
Oversee supplier payments and customer invoicing
Prepare statutory year-end accounts and supporting audit documentation
Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams on financial compliance and corporation tax computations
Present financial reports to shareholders at quarterly project board meetings
Maintain financial and operating models, preparing budgets and cash flow forecasts
Ensure compliance with loan facility agreements and track project financial deliverables
Manage debt distribution and contract administration
Work closely with lawyers, reviewing contracts and providing financial insights
Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial agreements and legal documentation
Support and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on financial processes
Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Who You Are:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 2+ years post-qualified experience
Experience in an accounting role within the built environment eg Facilities management, construction, property, engineering, consultancy, asset management, Building services etc..
Strong management skills – able to mentor, supervise, and influence
Excellent financial reporting, contract management, and stakeholder engagement skills
Confident in presenting to demanding clients and board-level stakeholders
Resilient, proactive, and thrives in a high-expectation, fast-paced environment
