HR Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-growing accountancy and business advisory firm as our HR Assistant. At Street’s, our goal is to become a top 20 UK practice through a strategy of organic growth, alongside targeted mergers and acquisitions. To support the HR team we are seeking a detail-oriented and organised HR Assistant.
The HR Assistant is a key support role within the HR department, ensuring the smooth delivery of HR processes and services. This role involves maintaining accurate employee records, supporting day-to-day HR operations along with all areas of the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
* Provide all HR transactional administration relating to employees' terms and conditions throughout the life cycle of their employment, processing transactions in a professional, efficient and accurate way ensuring that a high level of service.
* Maintain and update employee records in line with company policies and data protection regulations.
* Prepare HR documentation, including contracts, offer letters, and policies.
Employee Data Management
* Update and maintain HR systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy.
* Generate reports on HR metrics, such as absence rates, headcount, and turnover, as required.
Compliance and Record-Keeping
* Ensure HR activities comply with relevant employment laws and company policies.
* Manage documentation for statutory requirements, such as right-to-work checks and employee certifications.
Recruitment and Onboarding
* Assist the Talent Acquisition Lead in the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, coordinating interviews, and managing candidate communications.
* Prepare onboarding materials and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.
Employee Support
* Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance or escalating issues as needed.
* Support employees with queries regarding benefits, leave, and HR processes.
Other Duties
* Assist in organising employee engagement initiatives and events.
* Provide support during audits and HR-related projects.
What we need from you:
* Strong organisational abilities with acute attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Previous experience in HR and familiarity with HR software/systems is beneficial.
* Understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
* CIPD qualification or working towards it.
* Eagerness to learn and grow within the HR domain.

This is a full time 38.75 hours per week, office-based with flexibility as required.
