Full and Part Time / 37 & 18.5 Hours Per Week / Permanent and Fixed term for 12 months due to maternity leave
We are recruiting 2 energy project officers: 1 full-time officer that will be fixed term for 12 months, and 1 part-time officer working 18.5 hours on a permanent basis. These hours will be every Thursday and Friday, working every other Wednesday. You will have the hybrid flexibility of working from our offices at City Hall and from home.
You will be part of a team of 4 officers, making a real difference to people's lives - helping residents achieve warmer, healthier homes and lower their fuel bills, providing them a better quality of life.
Engage with private residents and local businesses at an individual and community level to provide guidance and advice around energy efficiency upgrades for their properties, and referral/signposting to available grants, such as ECO4, The Great British Insulation Scheme, Warm Homes Local Grant, and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Tackling fuel poverty in the city and helping us on the journey to achieving the city's Net Zero targets.

What you'll be doing:
Engaging with the public to give advice on energy efficiency upgrades for their properties. Attending community and public events to help reach a broader network to build relationships and gain public confidence. You will be helping the team manage and coordinate our in-house energy efficiency projects by assessing applications, keeping up to date records, and reporting on progress and outcomes.
What you'll need:
Experience delivering energy savings/efficiency-related advice and existing knowledge of past/current energy efficiency upgrade schemes would be an advantage. Any training already received around retrofit advice or energy savings will be helpful. Knowledge around energy efficiency retrofit technologies and how they are installed or operated, such as insulation or low carbon heating.
