An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, proactive registered dental nurse to join our busy maxillofacial and orthodontic department.
Previous experience in this field would be preferable.
We are able to offer excellent on-site training and development, whilst enjoying a varied and valued role. You will have the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team that includes Consultants, Doctors, RGNs, and specialist nurses. We provide a service to our patients that includes oral surgery, orthodontics, consultation clinics, and emergency trauma.
Main duties of the job
Your duties will include:
1. To manage clinics without supervision
2. To assist with the daily organizing of maxillofacial and orthodontic clinics
3. Chairside working minor oral surgery
4. Chairside working with the orthodontist
5. Adhering to departmental infection control protocols
6. Ensuring stock levels are maintained in clinics and reporting to Matron or Lead dental nurse when levels are low
7. Liaising with radiology, pathology, medical records, and secretaries as required
8. Supporting patients as necessary
9. You will be required to work cross-site at EDGH and Conquest hospital.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* National Certificate in Dental Nursing, equivalent to NVQ3.
* Must hold current GDC registration
* Orthodontic Dental Nurse Certificate
* Oral Health Education Certificate
Experience
* Two years previous chairside experience
* Proven track record within a Dental Practice
* Experience within Orthodontic practice setting will be an advantage
