The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Concrete Specialist to join a world-leading nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard.
Job Overview:
Our client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support ship and submarine sustainment programmes.
Your primary focus will be to review the existing technical specifications for the works and provide feedback on Reinforced Concrete that may need to be considered.
Some of your duties will include:
1. Review, comment, and accept the Contractors Proposal/Structural Concrete Constituent Material Supply Report.
2. Review, comment, and accept the Contractors Proposal/Concrete Validity study on the target concrete mix design.
3. Review, comment, and accept the Contractors Proposal to undertake tests reflecting lower tolerances where the batching tolerances for the plant are significantly lower than those indicated in BS EN 206 (if applicable).
4. Final suitability testing to confirm the performance of the concrete during construction operations. No concrete mix design shall be cast in place without undergoing an initial suitability test (concrete shall be produced using the proposed production plant and replicated site conditions as closely as feasible).
