Are you a special needs teacher looking for your next post?
Or are you a mainstream teacher that is looking to move over into special needs?
Zen Educate is currently working with a few special needs schools and alternative provisions and is looking for teachers to take on either part-time or full-time work for longer-term opportunities. This will involve teaching students ranging from as young as 5 up to the age of 18, depending on the class and the school.
All the schools cover a wide range of special needs, including but not limited to ASC, SLD, MLD, SEMH, PMLD, and ADHD. As a special needs teacher, you will need to utilize support staffing to their full potential and have an understanding, calm, and patient approach to your teaching practice.
Requirements:
1. UK QTS with ideally a specialism in SEN, but we would happily speak with those trained in primary and secondary looking to move over.
2. Experience in teaching students with additional needs and those on EHCPs.
3. Confidence in differentiation of learning objectives and material, ensuring all students can access the learning.
4. Good behaviour management skills and the ability to hold consistent expectations on how students should behave with a warm, understanding, and empathetic tone.
5. Able to use support staff effectively and communicate what objectives you are looking for from them.
6. Good communication skills with parents and SLT in the school regarding student progress.
7. Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one.
