About the role:
As an Import Clearance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Cory Brothers' operations continue to run smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will be to oversee and manage the customs clearance process, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately prepared and submitted. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, act as a liaison between various stakeholders, classify goods appropriately, and use advanced software systems to manage customs declarations. You will also be responsible for identifying potential compliance risks and providing support and guidance to clients and internal teams.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Prepare and submit customs documentation, including declarations and licences, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
2. Maintain a strong understanding of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
3. Serve as the primary contact with customs authorities, shipping companies, and other stakeholders.
4. Accurately classify goods using the correct system codes for duty rates.
5. Keep detailed records of all customs transactions.
6. Use advanced customs software systems for processing declarations and staying informed about regulatory changes.
7. Identify and mitigate potential customs compliance risks.
8. Provide expert assistance and guidance to clients and internal teams on customs-related inquiries.
9. Stay updated on evolving customs regulations and industry best practices.
About you:
You are a detail-oriented professional with a keen eye for accuracy and efficiency. With proven experience in customs clearance or a related field, you understand the intricacies of international trade compliance. You possess a strong understanding of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade compliance, and are proficient in using customs clearance software and tools. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build robust relationships with stakeholders, and your effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, combined with strong time management and organisational skills, make you an asset to any team. You have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. Desirable attributes include relevant certification in customs clearance or international trade.
