Location: Bovington
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Bovington, providing essential support to students who require additional guidance in managing their emotions and behaviours. About The Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will play a key role in helping students with SEMH challenges navigate their learning environment. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure each student receives tailored support to meet their unique needs.
Responsibilities Of a SEMH TA
1. Offer individual and small group support to students with SEMH needs to enhance their learning experience.
2. Assist with structured activities that encourage emotional regulation and social interaction.
3. Implement positive behaviour strategies to support students in developing self-confidence and resilience.
4. Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning atmosphere.
5. Guide students in acquiring essential communication, social, and coping skills for greater independence.
6. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and outside specialists to optimise student support plans.
7. Encourage students to actively engage in their education while fostering a sense of well-being and personal growth.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Qualification
1. Prior experience supporting students with SEMH needs in a school, youth work, or related setting is desirable.
2. A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred but not required.
3. A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field would be beneficial.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
5. Patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with children facing social and emotional challenges.
