Their terminals are pipeline-connected to local chemical manufacturing facilities and gas processing plants and each facility is an Upper Tier COMAH Site. They are looking for a Control and Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance team to ensure safe operation and reliability of terminal control and safety systems and c ompetent, safe and accurate completion of all allocated tasks is required to maintain the quality performance of the company. You will provide technical support, leader ship and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance. Key responsibilities: Produce engineering and maintenance technical instructions for new systems. Execute safety critical equipment routines ensuring correct installation, checks and precautions are taken Ensure that all contractors working on the site comply with site safety rules and regulations. Recommend and ensure actions on incident reports are recorded on the terminals reporting system Monitor and report on consumable stock levels Ensure inspections, defects and repairs are recorded on the site maintenance control forms Day to day responsibilities: Complete scheduled maintenance activities, including but not limited to: Instrument calibrations Tank Gauging Calibrations Cause & Effects Testing SIF Proof Testing F&G Calibrations and routine testing Instrument air packages Switch room inspections/panel/MCC inspections Supervision of external calibrations e.g meter proving and weighing equipment CompEx inspections Management of calibration of test equipment Providing instrumentation engineering support and fault finding to ensure operational performance of plant is optimised. Troubleshooting communications/OT networking Basic PLC troubleshooting/diagnostics Instrumentation Access control systems Completed corrective work/unplanned works Replacing / upgrading instruments Hazardous area equipment remedial work Instrument tubing/impulse line replacements and repairs Access control systems Minor panel modifications Ability to read Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Perform isolations and complete isolation certificates in accordance with Navigator Isolation, Lockout & Tagout Policy, Procedures and Guidance. Day to day management of ongoing maintenance tasks completed by C&I contract companies Ensuring suitable competency of all electrical contractors working onsite. Assist with the writing of procedures and permits required to ensure a safe system of work Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements Maintaining a stock of critical instrument equipment and assisting in the assessment process. Project assistance of assigned projects within the guidelines and set out in the UK Project Management Policy Execution of all assigned Eventis actions to the agreed timeline Part of On-Call rota providing emergency engineering support to plant Competent, safe and accurate completion of all allocated tasks is required to maintain the quality performance of the company. Any other tasks that may arise in the day-to-day functionality of this position. Other Accountabilities: Ensure the UK policy and procedure on site security is adhered. Provide input as required to various audits carried out on the Terminal. Assistance to Terminal emergency response as detailed in the emergency plan. Provide input on method statements, risk assessments and identify potential hazards. Ensure all amendments to terminal drawings and documentation are redlined and issued for update Attending HAZOP meetings, when requested, and completion of relevant actions. Attend Factory Acceptance Testing Assist with Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning activities Participate in safety audits and safety observation rounds. Assist with data collection for maintenance and alarm management KPI reporting Contribute to identifying the root cause of failures All assigned training to be completed on time. What you will need: HNC/NVQ or equivalent in Instrument Engineering discipline or time served apprenticeship. CompEx Units Ex 01 to 04 (Electrical). BS7671 18th Edition Safety Instrumented System awareness Experience with PLCs, SCADA and DCS 5 Years' experience working within a Petrochemical / chemical industry as an E&I technician.
