Working within the Environmental Protection Team, you will deal with a varied scope of day-to-day work activities addressing anti-social behaviour and enviro-crime. You will carry out investigations into complaints relating to waste and other environmental offences, planning and implementing interventions to improve the environmental quality of our communities with drive and positivity.
This regulatory role requires an excellent understanding of good regulatory principles, ranging from written advice and warnings to implementing various regulatory interventions, including drafting and serving legal notices, issuing civil penalties, and preparing cases for court proceedings.
Experience in engaging with and supporting all community members is essential. All work will be founded on the principles of the council’s core organisational values.

A full current UK driving licence is essential. You will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees' driving licence data.
This post is temporary until November 2025. The hours of work are 37 per week, working Monday to Friday, with availability for ad-hoc operational requirements including early morning, evening, weekends, or bank holidays, and occasional overnight stays for training courses.
The post holder will be based at Morecambe Town Hall with hybrid working options available. The Council operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme, allowing employees to work between 6:00am-10:30pm, subject to business needs.
For internal applicants, this role will be considered for a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.
