How would you teach Classics in an interesting and challenging manner?
An exciting and highly rewarding opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Classics teacher to join our busy and vibrant Classics Department on a temporary full-time or part-time contract, which enjoys a variety of specialisms including philosophy, linguistics, history and literature. Pupils are introduced to both Latin and Greek in Year 7 to Year 9, providing linguistic challenge and developing analytical and problem-solving skills. Exploring mythology and studying various key places around the Classical world allows our pupils to go beyond the languages and understand the people who spoke them.
Pupils regularly have the opportunity to further enhance their learning and enjoyment of the Classics through trips to national and international sites of interest. The Classics Department has strong numbers at both GCSE and A level with a number of pupils applying to read Classics at university each year.
