Randstad is partnering with Sefton Local Authority to recruit experienced Safeguarding Social Workers for a high-paying locum opportunity. As a Safeguarding Social Worker with Sefton, you will manage a diverse and complex caseload, working across children in need, child protection, and children in care teams. You'll be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring their safety and improving their life outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of children and families with complex needs, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
2. Undertake comprehensive assessments of risk and need within statutory frameworks, developing care plans in line with identified outcomes.
3. Prepare high-quality reports, statements, and assessments for court proceedings and care planning.
4. Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, such as health, education, and housing services, to support the delivery of holistic care plans.
5. Undertake direct work with children and families, focusing on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
6. Represent Sefton Local Authority at multi-disciplinary meetings and forums, acting as Chair when required.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring all reports and plans are completed within statutory deadlines.
Requirements:
8. Qualified social worker with registration to Social Work England.
9. Demonstrable experience in children's safeguarding, including managing complex child protection cases.
10. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act, and best practice models in social work.
11. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience working with multi-agency teams.
12. Ability to work under pressure, manage your caseload effectively, and make informed decisions in complex situations.
