We are seeking a talented Additive Manufacturing Research Engineer to join our client's cutting-edge research team based in Cambridge. This opportunity involves developing high-temperature materials and advancing additive manufacturing through experimental and simulation methods. As an Additive Manufacturing Research Engineer, you will: Experimental Work: Research & Development: Contribute to the development of innovative additive manufacturing processes and techniques. Laboratory Maintenance: Ensure the upkeep and optimisation of laboratory equipment, particularly PBF/EBM systems. Experimental Design: Develop and execute experiments to investigate the fundamental aspects of additive manufacturing processes. Data Analysis: Analyse experimental data using statistical methods to draw meaningful conclusions. Process Optimisation: Optimise process parameters for a variety of materials to achieve desired outcomes. Simulation Work: Simulation: Utilise simulation tools to model and predict the behaviour of additive manufacturing processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field. Experience / Knowledge of laser powder bed or electron beam technology. Exposure to Python. Strong understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis. Experience with simulation software. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities
